Stanford women's soccer has top recruits

Bookmark and Share
The Stanford women's soccer team will have four of the nation's top 10 club players when the Cardinal begins its quest for another trip to the national tournament in the fall.

According to the Club Soccer Player Rankings on topdrawersoccer.com, Stanford has recruited the No. 4, 5, 6 and 7 player on the Girls IMG Academy 150. No other school in the country has as many top recruits.

The top-rated recruit is goalie Jane Campbell of Kennesaw, Ga. She plays for the Concorde Fire SC and is considered the No. 1 keeper in the nation.

Also headed to the Cardinal is No. 5 Stephanie Amack of Pleasanton, No. 6 Madeline Bauer of Newport Beach and No. 7 Amber Munerlyn of Corona. Amack and Bauer are defenders while Munerlyn is a forward. All four players received five-star rankings.

Stanford also has the No. 31-ranked player in Ryan Walker of Oakland. She is a four-star recruit.

Defending national champion North Carolina, meanwhile, has only two of the top 25 (No. 11 and No. 13) while UCLA picked up three.
