Bravo to the volunteers!

Perhaps I missed it, but I never saw a list of places published to do volunteer work on Volunteer/Mitzvah Day.

I don't feel guilty for not showing up because I do volunteer work 3+ times a week and am reliable. I have the time because I am retired. People who are working and have children to raise usually have no time or energy left over to volunteer to do something on a regular basis. A one day project probably works well for them and their families.

I hope that Volunteer Day and Mitzvah Day also stress keeping commitments even if you are not going to be paid for the work. I have been told that a lot of volunteers make commitments to show up or do something and then do not. Many thanks to those volunteers who keep their commitments and do the best they can.
