Film: 'The Ayatollah's Seal'
A free showing of the BBC Persian Service documentary "The Ayatollah's Seal" is set for 6:30 p.m. today, Jan. 25, followed by a talk by BBC Persian head Sadeq Saba, and a Q&A session. He will talk about BBC Persian's struggles in exercising its freedom of speech. The event will be in Jordan Hall, Building 420, Room 041, at Stanford University. Go to events.stanford.edu.
Art: Stanford Art Spaces
A new four-painter exhibition opens today, Jan. 25, at Stanford Art Spaces on the university campus. Paintings by Brent Bushnell, Sofia Carmi, Jessica Eastburn and Alison Woods will be shown at the Paul G. Allen (C.I.S.) Art Spaces Gallery at 420 Via Palou. They include the triangle, square and circle forms of Bushnell on his shaped canvases and the grid-based, technology-inspired imagery of Eastburn.
