The Ethics of Wealth: 'Why I Left Goldman Sachs'
In the spring of 2012, The New York Times published an Op-ed piece by Greg Smith, who had recently resigned as the head of Goldman Sachs' United States equity derivatives business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Smith will discuss his career and the Op-Ed, titled "Why I Left Goldman Sachs," today, Jan. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. at CEMEX Auditorium, Knight Management Center, 641 Knight Way, Stanford. Community: Knit-In to Benefit War-Related Charities
The Los Altos Library will be hosting a knit/crochet-in to make needed items for active-duty soldiers, wounded vets and Afghan families. The items will be sent to Warmth for Warriors, Soldier's Angels and Afghans for Afghans. The event is today, Jan. 17, 3-5 p.m. at Los Altos Library Program Room, 13 S. San Antonio Road, Los Altos.
