The Stanford men's basketball team had plenty of opportunities to hold home court advantage but cold shooting in the second half and the inability to take advantage of Washington mistakes led to another frustrating loss.

Chasson Randle, who was late for the shootaround and was held out of the starting lineup as a result, scored 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting but was 1 of 4 in the second half as the Cardinal dropped a 65-60 Pac-12 decision to visiting Washington on Saturday night.

Stanford (1-3, 10-7) has a week to work through things before taking on California next Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Maples Pavilion.

Dwight Powell led the Cardinal with 19 points and had a chance to tie the game in the final 30 seconds. He ran into Huskies' center Aziz N'Diaye, all seven feet of him, and had to alter his shot just enough that it fell short.

Overall, the Huskies grabbed the advantage on second-chance points, 11-6, and on points off turnovers, 16-7.

"We have been competitive in every single game," Stanford coach Johnny Dawkins said. "It's a matter of us getting over the hump. We're a good team and we have to continue to work like one."

The Cardinal shot .267 from the field (8 of 30) in the second half after finding the basket .517 of the time (15 of 29) in the first half and taking a 36-35 edge into the intermission.

N'Diaye has been sensational in the three conference games to date. He's 18 of 23 (.783) from the field and has recorded a pair of double-doubles. C.J. Wilcox scored 27 points, one off his career high, for the Huskies.

"He's a good shooter and he knows the game well," Powell said. "It's very disappointing. We have high hopes and expectations for ourselves, We'll bounce back. We won't let this get deter us. We'll learn what we can and move forward."

After scoring 21 points in his best game of the season during Wednesday's win over Washington State, Aaron Bright was back in the starting lineup. He was 0 of 4 from the floor and did not record an assist in 33 minutes.

Stanford's well-played first half was followed by a celebration of the Cardinal football Rose Bowl championships.

Highlight of the festivities was offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton hitting his halfcourt shot.
