Breast Cancer Connections gets $12,000 boost
Palo Alto Fire Department raises money for local charity

Nate Heydorff, a firefighter and paramedic for the Palo Alto Fire Department, hands Karen Nelson, executive director of Breast Cancer Connections, a check for $12,000 for the organization on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.

Wanting to raise funds for a local charity, the department raised the money from its sales of pink Fire Department T-shirts during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October 2012.
