PUBLIC AGENDA: Waste-to-energy facility, Potential acquisition of Bowman property

CITY COUNCIL ... The council plans to hear a presentation from Lisa Hendrickson of Avenidas; discuss options for a waste-to-energy facility and landfill capping considerations; and consider a pilot residential composting program with reduced frequency of refuse collection. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, in the Council Chambers at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.). View the agenda

BOARD OF EDUCATION ... The board will vote on a proposed bonus for teachers and staff members equivalent to 1 percent of 2011-12 salary. The board also will discuss the possibility of talks with the independent Bowman International School about potential acquisition of Bowman property adjacent to Terman Middle School on Arastradero Road. Following a 5:30 p.m. closed session to discuss a legal matter, the board meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the boardroom of school district headquarters (25 Churchill Ave.). HISTORIC RESOURCES BOARD ... The board plans to discuss 1305 Middlefield Road, a proposal by the city's Community Services Division for a review of a new sign program for Rinconada Park. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, in the Council Chambers at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD ... The board plans to discuss 135 Hamilton Ave., a proposal for a four-story mixed-use building on an existing vacant lot; and 1305 Middlefield Road, a proposal for a new sign program for Rinconada Park. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, in the Council Chambers at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

PUBLIC ART COMMISSION ... The commission plans to meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, in the Council Chambers at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).
