Stanford-UConn women's hoop game sold out

Bookmark and Share
That tough ticket to the showdown between the No. 1-ranked Stanford women's basketball team and No. 2 Connecticut on Dec. 29 in Maples Pavilion just became an impossible ticket as the game is sold out.

Stanford will put the nation's longest active home winning streak of 82 games on the line against the Huskies at 1 p.m. The contest will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU with Dave O'Brien and Doris Burke on the call and former UConn star Rebecca Lobo reporting from the sidelines.

The last time the teams met at Maples Pavilion, on Dec. 30, 2010, Stanford defeated Connecticut, 71-59, to snap the Huskies' NCAA-record 90-game winning streak.

UConn, of course, would love to end Stanford's record-breaking home win streak this time out.

The contest will lead off a doubleheader of Cardinal basketball, as the Stanford men will host Lafayette at 7 p.m. Fans can show their Stanford-Connecticut tickets for a $10 general admission ticket to the men's game.
