This weekend's events (Dec. 15-16)

Bookmark and Share
Holidays: Christmas Tree Lane
Beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, the 1700 and 1800 blocks of Fulton Street in Palo Alto morph into "Christmas Tree Lane," an annual transformation that features elaborate decorations, carolers and more than a few strings of lights. The lights will be on from 5 to 11 p.m. each night through the New Year. The residents of these blocks have been putting up special decorations each year since 1940, and welcoming visitors to stroll -- and drive slowly with only their parking lights on -- down the lane. For photos and information from previous years, go to christmastreelane.org.

Music: The Gryphon Carolers
It's year number 30 for the annual Gryphon Carolers holiday concert, where the program includes original, eclectic and international holiday music with both vocal and instrumental arrangements. This year's show is at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in Gunn High School's Spangenberg Theatre at 780 Arastradero Road in Palo Alto. Musicians Carol McComb and Ed Johnson will be featured with other instrumentalists and a 35-voice ensemble. Tickets are $10-$25. Go to gryphoncarollers.com.

Theater: 'It's A Wonderful Life'
The Bus Barn Stage Company presents a live "radio play" version of the holiday classic "It's A Wonderful Life" this Saturday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. Actors play various roles and provide old-time sound effects with microphones in the show, which runs through Dec. 22 at the Bus Barn Theatre at 97 Hillview Ave. Tickets are $18-$32. Go to busbarn.org.
