Exhibit: 'The Jameel Prize 2011'
A new exhibit of work by the winner of and semifinalists for last year's international Jameel Prize opens today, Dec. 12, at Stanford's Cantor Arts Center. The prize is given by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and honors contemporary artists and designers whose work is inspired by "traditions of Islamic craft and design." The exhibit includes sculpture, felt costumes and mirror mosaic. The museum is at Museum Drive and Lomita Way on campus and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays until 8. Admission is free. Go to events.stanford.edu.
Family: 'The Wind in the Willows'
The Palo Alto Children's Theatre is presenting the early-20th-century Kenneth Grahame classic "The Wind in the Willows" through Dec. 21 at 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
