Author talk: 'Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore'
A tale of global conspiracy, complex code-breaking, high-tech data visualization, young love, rollicking adventure, and the secret to eternal life —- mostly set in a hole-in-the-wall San Francisco bookstore. Workshop: Holiday Pinecone Crafts
Participants can help decorate the senior center for the holiday season. They will create critters, snowmen, and more from pinecones. No experience necessary, just a willingness to get messy with art supplies. The event is tomorrow, Dec. 6, 1-2 p.m., at the Mountain View Senior Center, 266 Escuela Ave., Mountain View. I often enjoyed aurthor talks at Kepplar's Books in the past.

I realize that bookstores need to earn money, However, since I've a very limited income, at $10.00 a shot for such events, I can no longer attend even though I might like to.
