Jeremy Lin helps Rockets beat his old team
|
Jeremy Lin's role with the Houston Rockets this season may be a bit different than the one he had with the New York Knicks last season. Nonetheless, one thing remains the same -- Lin helps his team win.
In his first meeting of the season against his old team, the Palo Alto High grad produced 13 points seven rebounds and three assists to help the Rockets (6-7) cruise to a 131-103 triumph over the visiting Knicks (8-3) on Friday night.
James Harden scored 33 points and Chandler Parsons had 31 to lead Houston. Lin, meanwhile, played his role as playmaker well.
"I'm not looking to re-create what happened in New York," said Lin, who has been in a slump recently. "I want to be a consistent player. I want to get better. I don't know what my potential is. I don't know if I can play any better than I did during that stretch, but I'm going to find out to see how close I can get."
In other NBA action Friday, former Stanford standout Brook Lopez scored 26 points to help the Brooklyn Nets defeat the Los Angeles Clippers, 86-76.
