Paul de Barros, a journalist and author who grew up in Palo Alto, will give a free author talk at 7 p.m. tonight, Nov. 19, on his Marian McPartland biography "Shall We Play That One Together?" The event is at Books Inc. at 301 Castro St. in Mountain View. McPartland is a jazz pianist and was a longtime National Public Radio host. Go to booksinc.net.
