Art lecture: 'Where Art Originates'
At 7 p.m. tonight, Nov. 14, three artists who now have work on display at the Palo Alto Art Center will give a free talk on their inspiration and
process, kicking off a three-lecture series. The event is at the art center at 1313 Newell Road and features artists Kathy Aoki, Angela Buenning Filo and Lava Thomas. Go to cityofpaloalto.org.

Music: Stanford Jazz Orchestra with Jimmy Heath
Renowned saxophonist Jimmy Heath joins the Stanford Jazz Orchestra for a performance tonight, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. in Dinkelspiel Auditorium on campus. The longtime musician is also a composer and arranger, and has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and others. Tickets are $10 general, $9 for seniors, $5 for non-Stanford students and free for Stanford students. Go to events.stanford.edu.
