Media Center to host 'Election Night Show'
Program to include analysis by community leaders and ongoing coverage of candidate races and measures

Bookmark and Share
A live "Election Night Show" hosted by former Palo Alto Mayor Judy Kleinberg and San Mateo County Supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson will air on local cable television channels 27 and 30 and will be streamed live on the Web from 9 to 11 p.m. Tuesday night, Nov. 6.

The program will focus on voters and choices in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, including state and local ballot measures, city council and school board races in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Atherton, and state Assembly, state Senate, and state Proposition races.

Candidates will share their campaign experiences and a panel of community leaders will help analyze the results as they roll in. Channel 27 will host the program. Channel 30 will continuously broadcast updated results for 28 Midpeninsula races and all the state propositions.

Both channels are Web-streamed and the links are on the Midpeninsula Community Media Center at midpenmedia.org/watch/stream/.

Guests will include Palo Alto Mayor Yiaway Yeh, former Menlo Park Mayor Chuck Kinney, ACTERRA Executive Director Michael Closson, former Palo Alto City Council member LaDoris Cordell, and many ballot candidates.

Palo Alto and Santa Clara County races will be covered from 9 to 9:50 p.m. Community leaders will analyze the results from a variety of perspectives, such as the environment, education and criminal justice at 9:50 p.m., and from 10:15 to 11 p.m. the focus will be on Atherton, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto and San Mateo County measures.

The program is dedicated to former Palo Alto Mayor Gary Fazzino, who was a frequent host of the "Election Night Show." Fazzino died Wednesday, Oct. 30, from cancer.

The program is produced by the Midpeninsula Community Media Center in conjunction with its pre-election videos to help voters make their decisions.

The videos of candidate forums and statements by candidates and ballot measure proponents and opponents are linked from the Media Center's election page at midpenmedia.org/watch/elections_Nov_12flag.html.
