Shoplifters struck it big on Halloween, Oct. 31, after walking out of Victoria's Secret with 180 bras valued at $11,000, Palo Alto police said Thursday, Nov. 1.
An unknown number of persons entered the store at Stanford Shopping Center, 180 El Camino Real, Suite 305, at about 2 p.m. and removed the bras from drawers where they were stored beneath display racks, police spokesman Officer Ron Harris said.
The store was busy at the time, and no one noticed the thefts. There are no suspect descriptions, and police do not yet know how many persons were involved, he said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Palo Alto Police Department at 650-329-2413.Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

But if Stanford Shopping Center management, and the individual retailers can't putchase surveillance equipment--then they deserve what they get.
Probably should start watching Craig's List for an announcement about a good deal on women's underware.
Will be interesting to see if anyoe in the Victoria's store gets a bonus this Christmas.

No thieves, just fools parting with their money.

Posted by Who's DOING WHAT?, a resident of East Palo Alto, on Nov 1, 2012 at 10:15 pm Wow they lost $ 11,000 in merchandise. What about the slave labors they pay only 4 cents an hour to sew their merchandise. Goggle it yourself "Victoria Secret & Slave Labor". Who's the real thieves?

Posted by moi, a resident of Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Nov 2, 2012 at 11:07 am Never having been a girlie girl myself, I am disgusted by this: People spend $61.11 for a bra? This culture's priorities are upside down. Whenever I see someone holding a Victoria's Secret shopping bag, I see someone who has been bamboozled.

Posted by tomytwotone, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on Nov 2, 2012 at 11:09 am You mean $11.000 retail value. In reality $200 worth of merchandise lost.
String them together and someones got a nice sling shot.

Absolutely!
And the same is true for those who bought 7-figure Eichlers and $3000 bicycles.
