The Gunn girls' tennis team accomplished a number of things by defeating Homestead, 4-2, in a playoff match to decide the SCVAL El Camino Division title on Monday at Monta Vista High in Cupertino.

The victory gives the Titans the division's automatic berth into the Central Coast Section tournament and moves Gunn (13-8) up to the De Anza Division next season.

Gunn's Laurie Perng won her No. 4 singles match, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4, to give Gunn its victory. Both teams had gone 11-1 during the regular season.

Homestead picked up its points in singles, but Gunn swept the doubles. Sophia Han and Angela Juang posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1, Ebba Nord and Devyani Bhadkamkar registered the same score at No. 2 and Antoinete Nguyen and Anjali Herekar captured No. 3 doubles with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph.
