Two homicides reported in East Palo Alto Friday
Shooting deaths occur three blocks apart

Police are investigating two fatal shootings that occurred three blocks apart in East Palo Alto Friday night.

At 11:13 p.m., police responded to gunshots detected in the 300 block of Azalia Drive in East Palo Alto. Officers found 24-year-old East Palo Alto resident Lonnie Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, police said.

Earlier Friday night, East Palo Alto police responded to a homicide that took place about three blocks away, according to police. Police responded to gunshots detected in the 2200 block of Terra Villa Avenue at 8:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found Christopher Baker, 21, of East Palo Alto suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Baker was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, police said. The crime remains under investigation, police said.

East Palo Alto police is asking anyone who may have witnessed either shooting or has knowledge of the incidents to contact police at 650-321-1112 or by sending an anonymous text or leaving an anonymous voicemail at 650-409-6792.
