 | Competing against rowers from 15 states and three countries in the Head of Oklahoma Regatta last weekend, Sacred Heart Prep senior Danni Struck, Sharon Wu of Menlo School and their Stanford Junior Crew teammates took the first steps toward a goal of winning gold medals later this year in Oakridge Tennessee at the National Junior Rowing Championships.
Struck won four gold and one silver medal in Okahoma. The first two of Struck's medals came in her single-person boat named "Destruction." Then the Stanford Junior Crew Quad consisting of Struck, Wu plus two others went on to win to two golds as did the Double Scull that included Struck.
The Stanford Junior Crew team is coached by Monica Hilcu.— Palo Alto Online Sports Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
