Music: Daniel Pearl Music Days
"Harmony for Humanity: Daniel Pearl Music Days," the annual free concert paying tribute to the late journalist, is scheduled for 8 p.m. tonight, Oct. 3, in Memorial Church at Stanford University. The St. Lawrence String Quartet and Stanford Chamber Strings and other Stanford musicians are scheduled to perform. The event is part of a network of free concerts in various countries. Art: Cubberley Artists
"Graphite, Inks and Other Means," a new exhibition of work by the artists from Cubberley Studios in Palo Alto, opens today, Oct. 3, in the Palo Alto City Hall lobby at 250 Hamilton Ave. The 22 artists work in photography, illustration, painting, sculpture, collage and other media.
