Party crasher fires shots at Menlo Park house
San Jose man arrested Saturday morning

Bookmark and Share
A San Jose man was arrested Saturday morning, Sept. 1, on six counts of attempted murder after he allegedly fired shots at a house in the North Fair Oaks area where he had been kicked out of a party, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

A man later identified as Ismael Garcia Luna, 20, allegedly tried to crash a party at a home in the 500 block of Hurlingame Avenue around 1 a.m., according to Lt. Larry Schumaker.

When he was told to leave, Luna allegedly punched the party's host in the face, and had to be physically removed from the home by several party guests. He left the area yelling out gang remarks and making threats toward the residents of the home, Schumaker said.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m., at least one shot was fired through the house's window, shattering the glass and sending shards flying at several women standing inside.

The victims were treated by paramedics at the scene, and no one appears to have been struck by any projectiles, Schumaker said.

Around an hour later, after obtaining a description of the party crasher, deputies located Luna hiding in the area of Halsey and MacArthur avenues a short distance away.

Witnesses identified Luna as the party crasher who had assaulted the host, Schumaker said. A shotgun and other evidence were found near him.

He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and shooting into an inhabited dwelling. Luna, who is thought to be a current or former gang member, has an arrest record for theft, drug and assault offenses. The victims are not associated with a gang, deputies said.

Weird things happen when the moon is full and blue like it was that evening. Whats even more weird is that his last name is Luna, which means moon in Spanish. Just an observation.

I just noticed that his last name (Garcia) has 6 letters in it, and that he was charged with SIX accounts of attempted murder. This story just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

Nevermind - his middle name was Garcia. My apologies for getting the facts wrong.

What's more amazing is that he was arrested on Sept 1 AFTER he had crashed the party at 1am and was found hiding 1 hour later, after the deputies had obtained a description on the crasher.

The truth is out there.
