| Dozens of artists demonstrated their Italian-street-painting skills in downtown Palo Alto Saturday and Sunday during the 31st annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. Tasso Street off University Avenue served as the canvas as artists used colored chalk to paint a variety of images.
More than 300 artists from around the U.S. showcased and sold their works at the festival. The festival included the "Wild and Whimsical" sculpture garden and a kids' arts studio.
Several bands and musicians also performed, including The Hitmen, a seven-piece band playing classics and hits from the '70s to the present. The Palo Alto Weekly took "cover shots" of festival-goers with "faux" Weekly newspaper covers and posted them on Facebook. The growing gallery can be seen at facebook.com/paloaltonline.
