Art: 'Nude Beach'
Artists in the Peninsula exhibition "Nude Beach" have interpreted the theme in a variety of ways, including ceramic pieces without glaze and paintings of beaches bereft of living things. The artists include Susan Wolf, Terrie Moore and Elizabeth Noerdlinger. The free show is up at The Main Gallery at 1018 Main St. in Redwood City through Sept. 9. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Go to themaingallery.org.
Books: Exhibit of hand bookbinders
The Bing Wing in Stanford University's Green Library is hosting an exhibit honoring the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Hand Bookbinders of California, with examples of fine design bindings from contemporary members and from the library's collections. The free exhibit is up through Sept. 5. Artists include Paul Bonet, Pierre Lucien Martin, Belle McMurtry Young and Peter Fahey. Go to library.stanford.edu.
