After receiving a phone call reporting a suspicious person strolling around a house on Oakhurst Place on Aug. 9, Menlo Park police decided to take a look.
They watched as a teenage boy wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack emerged into the early afternoon sunshine from a yard further down the block. A check of the property revealed signs of a burglary, as did a search of the young man, who was allegedly found with a stolen iPhone, black Guess watch, and Apple earphones and charger, police said.
The 14-year-old East Palo Alto resident was booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall on suspicion of burglary, according to police.
Police ask that anyone with information regarding this case to call them at 650-330-6300.Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
