Two persons were arrested on the Stanford campus early Monday morning, July 30, after they allegedly burglarized at least two vehicles, according to Stanford police.
Security personnel at Stanford Hospital and Clinics reported hearing glass break at about 1:30 a.m. in the parking structure outside the hospital on Campus Drive. Three suspects on bicycles were followed and an adult and a juvenile were detained.
One was detained on the Stanford campus, one was arrested in downtown Palo Alto and the third has not been apprehended, Stanford Department of Public Safety spokesman Bill Larson said.
The two were subsequently arrested on charges ranging from burglary to possession of stolen property, Larson said. Campus police discovered the two persons arrested had three GPS units in their possession. Their names have not been released.
A second vehicle was burglarized in the Track House parking lot near Stanford Stadium, Larson said. Both vehicles were entered through window smashes. Police are contacting persons whose names were found in the GPS units to try to locate the owners.
Anyone with information about the burglaries or the GPS systems can contact Stanford Police Deputy James at 650-444-9018 or email him at ajames@stanford.edu.— Sue Dremann Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

That way your windows don't get broken! If thieves want my Gospel music CDs or old maps, they are welcome to them. Leaving a GPS in a car overnight is just stupid!
