Ben Lee, the U.S. Olympic Badminton coach and Palo Alto Police Department Patrol Officer, talks with Lisa Van Dusen before heading to London for the 2012 Olympic Games.
In 1992, Lee competed in the Olympics and was the captain of the U.S. Olympic Badminton team. In 2002, he joined the Palo Alto Police Department. On a mission to "put U.S. Badminton on the international map," Lee has never stopped playing and championing the sport since a family friend first put a badminton racquet in his hand at age 11.
Officer/Coach Lee, who is always in motion, reflects on the common denominators of his two passions and what fuels them. U.S. Badminton matches will be take place at Wembley Stadium. Schedules are available athttp://www.nbcolympics.com/badminton/index.html www.nbcolympics.com/badminton.
