Talk: Abbas Milani
Abbas Milani, director of the Iranian-studies program and a research fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, will give a free talk at 7 p.m. tomorrow, July 24, on his biography "The Shah." The talk will be in Braun Auditorium at the Mudd Chemistry Building and is presented by the Stanford Human Rights Program. For more, go to events.stanford.edu.

Dance: Tango on the square
As part of the city of Redwood City's free outdoor music, dance and film series, Arthur Murray dancers will give mini-lessons in tango starting at 6 p.m. tomorrow, July 24, on Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City. Public dancing continues until 8 p.m., and the series continues weekly through Sept. 25. For details, go to redwoodcity.org.

The Shah??!! Why waste time talking about the yo-yo that was ousted decades ago? What about Nuclear Proliferation. What about Political Discourse and threats of WAR and retaliation.

I'm sure they'll pack the house for this one. Waste of time.

Must be one of those 'Persian' guys.

Why talk about the Shah? Are you kidding, the Shah of Iran was probably the first and the biggest US CIA operation that became public and began exposing what the US government does in the world undercutting American credibility A big deal, however you look at it and from whatever side. Maybe too big a conversation.

Besides, is anyone forcing anyone else to participate. Why do people feel the need to jump in and be rude … especially when they have no particular point to make?
