CITY COUNCIL ... The council plans to hold a closed session to discuss the status of labor negotiations. The council also plans to incorporate the new Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan into the city's Comprehensive Plan and approve the Housing Element. The closed session will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9. Regular meeting will follow in the Council Chambers at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.). View the agenda

COUNCIL POLICY AND SERVICES COMMITTEE ... The committee plans to discuss the City Council's priority-setting process and review the proposed work plan for the Office of the City Auditor. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, in the Council Conference Room at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.). View the agenda

PLANNING AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION ... The commission plans to discuss the California Avenue streetscape project, including the status of the design work, opportunities for sidewalk widening and plaza design. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, in the Council Conference Room at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.). View the agenda

UTILITIES ADVISORY COMMISSION ... The commission plans to elect officers, designate a spokesperson for City Council meetings and consider a resolution approving a pilot program for time-of-use electric rates for residential customers with electric vehicles. ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD ... rather than fixing decaying streets and expediting traffic, palo Alto continues with "calming" and changing the city per the "planning "committee. these people are intellectually challenged and ignore the fact that poor planning,poor design,overbuilding and the desire to return to "horse and buggy"days serve no good purpose. change and growth will occur and good planning will make all the difference. we need leadership,not the same old group,whose agendas serve no one.

California Avenue re-design is turning into Palo Alto's HSR. Very few residents and voters want the changes being proposed. Meanwhile, the City Council is responding much like Jerry Brown with an attitude of: "you've got to have it" because we will be getting all this grant money, and somebody else will be paying for it.

Council, let it go, we like California Avenue the way it is.
