Police recover stolen property from vehicle stop
Three men arrested for residential burglary in Palo Alto

Bookmark and Share
Police arrested three men for residential burglary after an officer discovered stolen property during a vehicle stop Friday, April 13, at 2:08 p.m. -- less than 25 minutes after the property was reported stolen from a nearby residence.

Hector Jose Sandoval of Hayward, Gilbert Garcia of East Palo Alto and Israel Aguilar of East Palo Alto were each arrested for residential burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools. The first three charges are felonies; only the charge of possession of burglary tools is a misdemeanor.

Police recovered property that had been stolen earlier that day at a house in the 2400 block of Agnes Way. Police stated that the estimated value of the recovered stolen property is between $10,000 and $15,000.

An officer stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Oregon Expressway and Middlefield Road for a vehicle code violation and detained the vehicle's three occupants after smelling marijuana. One of the men was on a searchable probation for vehicle theft and domestic violence in Alameda County.

The officer conducted a probation search and discovered tools commonly used for burglary and a watch that had been reported stolen from the residence on Agnes, police said. The ensuing investigation led to the recovery of the rest of the property stolen from the residence.

Police stated that burglars had entered the Agnes residence by cutting through the screen of an unlocked side window between 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.

The resident called police at around 1:46 p.m. after discovering his house ransacked and missing jewelry, electronics and the watch that would later be found on the vehicle occupant on probation.

Oh, there's a shocker. Hey, we want stuff, let's go over to Paly Alto and take property that belongs to others. Typical criminal entitlement behavior. Good job PAPD.

Great work PAPD - a perfect example of how a high caliber PD can work.

What a trio of morons! You've committed multiple felonies but failed to ensure that your vehicle is legal & you can't resist having strong-smelling dope w/you - you're a total Darwin fail.

Yeah, dumb and dumber in trio form, but it is not Darwinism because they survived.

The good news for them is that these are non-violent offences, which means they will probably be back soon, more socially hobbled than ever with fresh arrest records and all. Look for these clowns and their "friends" in a dark shadow near you.

Most thieves, including these guys, work in broad daylight.

WTG, PAPD!

There are three fewer embarrassments to society taken off our streets! I just wish that there was an island somewhere that we could ship off these sort of selfish characters to.

Until then, I hope that they are embarrassed of the evil that they committed and that their families are completely ashamed of them.
