VIDEO: VolunTEENS, Part 2

Video

Bookmark and Share
Filmmaker Carolina Moraes-Liu presents a monthly series of videos focusing on how teenagers in Palo Alto are finding ways to volunteer throughout the Bay Area.

This second segment focuses on the non-profit organization Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP), which was founded in 1989 under the leadership of the Junior League of Palo Alto.

RTP's mission is to build volunteer partnerships to rehabilitate homes and community facilities for low-income homeowners and neighbors -- seniors, disabled, or families -- so they can live independently in warmth and safety.

The organization is committed to involving local students in its work. Through diverse volunteer positions, students learn about the nonprofit sector, gain an understanding of the importance of serving their communities, and develop their skills and potential in a setting outside the classroom.

For more information about the Rebuilding Together Peninsula, visit www.RebuildingTogetherPeninsula.org.

Carolina, thank you for capturing this work on film. It's important for teens to know what a huge difference they can make. To see their dedication, even in the rain, is truly inspiring for someone at any age.
