Senior Samantha Woodward discovered swimming in her home pool meant perfection and celebrated her final home meet with a pool record.

Meanwhile, sophomore Felicia Lee gave a good indication of things to come from her, as she also set a pool record and the eighth-ranked Stanford women's swimming team upset visiting top-ranked California, 174-126, in the regular season finale on Saturday.

Woodward set the tone, giving the Cardinal (9-1) the lead with her effort in the fly of the 200 medley relay that finished first in a pool best 1:37.95. Freshman Maddy Schaefer finished the race with a strong free.

Woodward also won the 100 fly in 53.67 and Schaefer came tantalizingly close to setting another pool record, going 48.69 in the 100 free, .04 off the four-year mark.

Woodward and four other seniors -- Angela Duckworth, Kerry Kraemer, Betsy Webb, Jamie Bruce -- completed their careers with a 23-0 record in home meets. Stanford has won 32 in a row dating to the final meet of the 2006 season.

Lee set her mark in the 100 back at 53.03, erasing a California swimmer off the record sheet.

Stanford won the first five events to establish a significant lead over the highly-regarded Bears (7-1), who feature Palo Alto grad Liv Jensen, one of the top sprinters in the nation, and triple winner Caitlin Leverenz, who set a pool record in the 200 IM with a 1:55.90. Stanford grad and Olympic gold medalist Julia Smit held the previous mark.

Jensen won the 50 free in 22.42, nearly matching her own pool mark set while swimming with the Vikings. She was .03 shy.

Freshman Katie Olsen won the 100 breast in 1:02.33, Stanford's fifth consecutive win following the medley relay, Lee's win, and first place showings by Andi Taylor in the 1,000 free (9:49.28) and Andi Murez in the 200 free (1:46.85).

After Leverenz and Jensen earned victories, Cardinal diver Stephanie Phipps scored 340.80 to win the 3-meter event. Schaefer recorded her near record and Maya DiRado won the 200 back in 1:56.18. Phipps also won the 1-meter event, scoring 298.43.

The Pac-12 Championships begin Wednesday, Feb. 22 in Federal Way, WA.
