NBA point guard Jeremy Lin, a graduate of Palo Alto High School (Class of 2006) and Harvard University (Class of 2010), reflects on his Palo Alto basketball roots, his experiences as a trailblazing Asian and Ivy League player in the NBA, and his dreams for the future.
In conversation with Lisa Van Dusen just before the Golden State Warriors began practice for the 2011-2012 season, Lin (6'3") talks about playing with his former Paly teammates during the NBA lockout and shares what matters most to him, including his deep faith. He muses: "It's a business. Anything can happen."
Lin's faith was tested a few days later when the Warriors cut him on the first official day of practice. Lin responded to the cut by Tweeting Psalm 46:10. Within a week, however, the Houston Rockets had picked him up.

Posted by Resident, a resident of Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Feb 9, 2012 at 10:00 am I am pleased to see this old interview back on your front page. The local news channels were covering him last night as well as plenty of sports press.
We should be following his career with local pride! He is such a nice guy.

Posted by John, a resident of the Palo Alto Hills neighborhood, on Feb 9, 2012 at 12:45 pm Lin's dribbling style reminds me of Bob Cousy. Very rapid, close to the ground, never stop the dribble, until the finish. Peripheral vision. Very impressive.
The Warriors gave up on a good one! Shame on them! Some heads should roll on this one.
