 | Avenging its only loss in two years, the Jordan 7th grade boys' basketball team defeated Cunha Middle School, 47-34, to win the Art David Athletic League (ADAL) Championship playoffs.
Griffin Byer starred for the winning Jaguars with 25 points in a very tight game until the final minutes. Jordan brought a complete team effort -- strong defense, aggressive rebounding and an efficient offense.
The championship victory over Cunha came one day after a dramatic Jordan win against Terra Linda in overtime, 31-28. Miles Tention and Pete Snodgrass led the scoring effort with Byer closing the game out in overtime. In the first round, Jordan defeated Ralston, 45-25.
"Once again, this group of boys proved themselves to be a special one," said Jordan coach Ken Morgan. "They work hard, they are committed and they never quit. Being 25-1 in two years of basketball is something to be proud of, but representing Jordan with good sportsmanship and class is even more important."— Palo Alto Online Sports Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition?
