Menlo football receives national recognition
|
Menlo College junior Robert Adan and seniors Kamalu Kaina, Chris Tosello, and Anthony Bendana were named 2011 NAIA Football All-Independent first team it was announced Friday.
Adan caught 65 passes for 939 yards, including 11 for touchdowns. Adan ranked fifth nationally in receptions and tenth for receiving yards.
Kaina and Tosello each repeated as first team picks. Kaina, an offensive lineman, did not allow a sack all season while Tosello, a defensive lineman who will participate in Saturday's All-American Bowl in Minnesota, ranked sixth in the nation with 11 sacks.
Bendana, a cornerback, led the Oaks (5-5) with three interceptions and ranked second in pass breakups with four.
