Stanford women's basketball freshman guard Alex Green will miss the rest of the season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon in her left foot, it was disclosed Monday.

She suffered the injury late Friday afternoon during practice, and was a late scratch from the travel party to Connecticut.

Green, who hails from Dallas, appeared in two games this season for a total of 11 minutes. She did not attempt a shot and had two rebounds.

In addition, Stanford's 6-3 junior Mikaela Ruef will miss the game with a foot injury.

Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck has been named a finalist both the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and the Maxwell Award for the Collegiate Player of the Year.

The finalists for both awards were revealed Monday afternoon on ESPNU's second annual The Home Depot College Football Awards nomination special.

Luck joins Robert Griffin III of Baylor and Case Keenum of Houston as finalists for the Davey O'Brien Award, which is presented annually to the nation's top quarterback.

Boise State's Kellen Moore and Alabama's Trent Richardson joins Luck as finalists for the 75th Maxwell Award for the Collegiate Player of the Year.

Both the Davey O'Brien and Maxwell Awards will be presented as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thursday, December 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Luck has completed 241 of 343 of his passes for 2,937 yards and 31 touchdowns in leading the Cardinal to a 10-1 overall mark on the season heading into Saturday's game against Notre Dame.

He leads the Pac-12 Conference in passing efficiency (167.3) and ranks fifth in passing yards per game (267.0).

Luck needs one touchdown pass to tie his own single-season record from a year ago. He's also one touchdown shy of equaling John Elway's all-time school record of 77.

Junior right guard David DeCastro was named a finalist for the Outland Trophy, which is awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.

He is joined by Alabama offensive tackle Barrett Jones and Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still as this year's finalists for the 66th Outland Trophy.

DeCastro, a native of Bellevue, Wash., has been one of the anchors of Stanford's offensive line for the last three seasons, making 37 consecutive starts at his right guard position.

This year's line has allowed the ninth fewest sacks in the nation while paving the way for a Cardinal running game to average 209.0 yards per game on the ground.

How about an injury update on Levine Toilolo, he injured his shoulder in the Big Game? What is his status for the Notre Dame game this week?

At Web Link, Toilolo and Fleener are listed as probable starting tight ends.
