Stanford senior midfielder Teresa Noyola has her sights set on USC and UCLA this weekend in big Pac-12 matches. She has other things going on, as well, like being named among the 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for women's soccer.

The award recognizes student-athletes for their contributions both on and off the field.

At this point, voting will contribute to the final selection. To vote for Noyola, go to www.seniorCLASSaward.com or the Senior CLASS Award Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/LowesSeniorCLASSAward.

Fans will be able to vote online through November 14, and can do so once a day.

These votes will be combined with votes from coaches and media to determine the recipient of the award. Noyola entered the academic year with a 3.54 GPA and is majoring in math and computational sciences. She also has been active with the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative.

Noyola, a Palo Alto High graduate, has helped lead Stanford into the NCAA College Cup each of the past three seasons and has the top-ranked Cardinal in position to make another run. Noyola has six goals and five assists, and scored the winning goal in overtime on Sunday to beat host Washington, 1-0.

Noyola also is on the watch list for the Hermann Trophy, awarded to the nation's top player, and has been vital to Stanford's 11-0-1 start.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. The finalists were chosen by a media committee from a list of 30 candidates that were announced in August.

The following are the other nine finalists: Kathleen Beljan (Dayton), Danielle Foxhoven (Portland), Katy Frierson (Auburn), Laura Heyboer (Michigan State), Mo Isom (LSU), Natalie Kulla (Marquette), Krista Lopez (Oklahoma State), Aline Reis (Central Florida), and Lizzy Simonin (Memphis).

Does anyone know how those without a Facebook account can vote for Teresa (without using someone else's Facebook account)? Our son (now away at college) was on the Paly boys' soccer team when Teresa played there and we would like to support a great student-athlete who is also a nice person.
