In late March, Jordan Middle School hosted a barn dance for students and parents following "folk dance week."

The week-long series of dances was led by Evo Bluestein as part of his folk-dance residency, which teaches middle-schoolers about community building. The event was the first of its kind for the school.

Great fun! I have fond memories of barn dances in the UK. I think we spent most of the time laughing, in stitches watching each other try to follow the dance steps.

Thank you to the music teacher who pushed for this to come to Jordan (sorry, don't know name). It was a great learning experience for the students. When else would one learn folk dancing?
