Hospital workers' contract unresolved
|
| Negotiations on a new labor contract between Stanford University Hospital and the Service Workers International Union (SEIU), Local 715, ended Sunday night without resolution, according to union official Myriam Escamilla.
SEIU’s contract with Stanford and Lucile Packard Children’s hospitals expired Nov. 4, but that contract was extended through Sunday night, Esamilla said. No new negotiations are scheduled until Nov. 19.
SEIU’s contract covers about 1,200 food and service workers at the two hospitals. Wages and health care benefits are among the issues being negotiated. — Don Kazak
