Paly hosts event for 'survivors of suicide loss'
'Why did this happen? How can I cope?' will be discussed Saturday

Share
Palo Alto High School will be a host site for the "National Survivors of Suicide Loss Day" Saturday.

Participants will watch a 90-minute broadcast in which survivors of suicide loss and mental health professionals address questions such as: "Why did this happen? How can I cope? Here can I find support?"

The event and the video are sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, which organizes hundreds of such gatherings around the country for a simultaneous showing of the broadcast.

Paly's event opens with a 9 a.m. registration and continental breakfast. The video will be shown from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a question-and-answer session.

Do- mourn, contemplation and reflection then move on

Do not- wallow in your grief is a waste of time and more of this feelings babble will not bring back the dead.

Bootstraps, grit, resolve is what works.

Condolences to the suicide survivors of the Community of Chinese Catholics at St. Joseph’s Parish in Fremont who lost their priest, Fr. James Chevedden, S.J. who was a victim of a suicide or an assisted suicide.
