Smith named MPSF co-Player of the Week
Sophomore driver nets five goals in win over UC Santa Barbara

Stanford sophomore driver Jacob Smith earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's water polo co-Player of the Week honors after helping the third-ranked Cardinal beat UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
Smith scored a career-high five goals to help keep Stanford unbeaten in conference play.
Smith, who scored 23 goals as a freshman, became the second straight Stanford player to win the honor and the third this season.
Stanford (16-1) hosts UC Davis in a nonconference contest on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Football
The Pac-10 Conference announced Tuesday that Stanford's game at USC on Nov. 14 will be televised by Fox Sports Net with a 12:30 p.m. starting time.
Field hockey
Stanford, the NorPac Conference West Division champion, opens the conference tournament against East Division No. 4 seed Appalachian State at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
East No. 1 seed Radford follows with a game against West No. 4 UC Davis at 4 p.m. and California closes the first day with a 6:30 p.m. game against Davidson.
Longwood and Pacific open the conference tournament ay 11 a.m. All games will be played at Stanford's Varsity Turf Field.
Should the Cardinal survive the first day, it will play the winner of the Longwood-Pacific match in Friday's semifinal at 1:30 p.m.
The championship contest, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Play-In game, is scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
