• Community: 'Light The Night Walk'
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society holds a two-mile walk, intended as an inspirational event for local patients and families, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 10) at Palo Alto High School, 50 Embarcadero Road. • Music: 'Heroes, Heartthrobs and High Adventure'
The California Pops Orchestra performs Saturday (Oct. 10) at 7:30 p.m., playing music from films including "Around the World in 80 Days," "High Noon," "The Lion King" and "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre." The show is at Spangenberg Theatre, 780 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto. Tickets are $30 general, $25 for seniors, $20 for students and $10 for children. • Authors: Helen Thomas and Barbara Lee
A book-signing event with longtime White House journalist Helen Thomas and U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee is set for Sunday (Oct. 11) at 2 p.m. at Kepler's Books, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. The event is free. Thomas is the author of "Listen Up, Mr. President: Everything You Always Wanted Your President to Know and Do," while Lee wrote "Renegade for Peace and Justice."
