 | Westwood High of Texas kicker Jordan Williamson made a verbal commitment to attend Stanford in the fall of 2010.
The King's Academy (Sunnyvale) junior running back Amir Carlisle, an elite prospect in the class of 2011, was offered by Stanford over the weekend. On Tuesday, he gave Stanford his word.
Williamson was rated the fourth-best kicker at his position following the Chris Sailer kicking and snapping event in Las Vegas in January.
"I liked the campus and loved the weather," Williamson told scout.com. "And my mom wanted to go there when she was in high school. She got in but, couldn't go due to finances. So I heard a bunch of great things about them a long time ago. It also provides me with great academic opportunities. I want to go pro in football but, if I don't, I want to have something to fall back on academically. Stanford is great for that."
Williamson becomes the 17th player to give Stanford a verbal commitment from the class of 2010.
Carlisle became the earliest commit in Stanford's history. His father, Duane Carlisle, is the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the San Francisco 49ers.

Posted by Leslie Dolan, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on Jun 23, 2009 at 6:19 pm I was born and raised in Palo Alto. My husband, Peter, and I went to Paly, and moved from San Carlos to Austin, Texas 15 years ago. My son, Alex, is very good friends with Jordan Williamson and goes to high school with him. Jordan will be an excellent asset for Stanford football. He's a very mature, well-grounded, kind, and talented young man. I am happy for him and his family!
