jZCool in Menlo Park closes after 10 years

Bookmark and Share
After 10 years in business, jZ Cool Eatery and Wine Bar on Santa Cruz Avenue in downtown Menlo Park has closed.

Owner Jesse Cool announced the closure, saying that she plans to open a lunch cafe in the city's business park area, east of U.S. 101, in June. Meanwhile, Cool's catering company is moving into a larger venue in the business park, she said.

In addition to her catering business, Cool also operates the Flea St. Cafe on Alameda de las Pulgas in Menlo Park, and a cafe in Stanford's Cantor Arts Center. She advocates the use of organic ingredients from local farms.

"I want to personally thank the community for dining at one of our tables throughout the years," Cool said.

Don't mean to sound rude, but it was such an overpriced place, and often was mediocre. I quit spending my $$ there last year. I wish them luck w/future ventures and continued luck w/FSC, but glad they closed.

I agree with the first comment.

We really wanted to support the cause, so to speak, but the prices became ridiculous, the quality declined & the service degraded to terrible. We felt as if we were paying for Jesse Cool's kitchen remodel. Talk about a bail out!

I also sincerely wish JZC luck, but will not return to any of her restaurants until we learn that the prices - @ least of a few entrees - go down in price, & the service improves.
