Mountain View Neighborhoods

Photo
 | From an early stagecoach stop and agricultural center, Mountain View has grown since its incorporation in 1902 to a thriving city of 73,000+ residents in the heart of Silicon Valley. Internationally known corporations make Mountain View their home, swelling the daytime population to more than 100,000.
Today, Mountain View neighborhoods are as varied as the housing types, with 28 percent single-family, 11 percent townhouses, 57 percent multifamily and 4 percent mobile homes. Nearly 42 percent are owner-occupied.
Encompassing 12 square miles, Mountain View is surrounded by Palo Alto, Los Altos and Sunnyvale. Highways 101, 85 and 237, as well as light rail and Caltrain, offer quick access to the rest of the Bay Area.
Mountain View's diversified population enjoys superb recreation and arts facilities, including Shoreline Park and the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.

Posted by Pamela Parker, a resident of another community, on Jul 13, 2009 at 2:12 pm Hey Palo Alto!!! Thanks for having WomenROCK performers, Pamela Parker and *bernadette* fill in for Melissa Rapp at World Music Day. We had a great time and would love to have a corner for WomenROCK performers next year, as we could fill it up easily with great performers from the Bay Area. The World Music Day was a huge success and I had a lot of fun performing on one day notice as a fill in. Thanks for mentioning my name and I hope to see you again next year with more WomenROCKers performing.
Peace
Pamela Parker

Posted by Rick, a resident of Mountain View, on Sep 8, 2009 at 3:41 pm The Mountain View map is full of holes, but we must select something to add a comment. The closest selection is not always accurate. I just end up choosing one at random. Someone should fill in the blanks.
