Two Stanford wrestlers advance in tournament

Stanford redshirt senior Ryan Mango and sophomore Evan Silver have advanced to the quarterfinals of the third annual Southern Scuffle at McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga, Tenn. As a team, Stanford has posted 25 team points and sits in 15th place.

Mango, ranked fifth nationally at 133 pounds, had a bye to start the tournament. He reached the quarterfinals with an 8-2 decision over Shayden Terukina of Iowa State and an 18-7 major decision against Air Force's Gregory Rinker. Mango moves to 16-1 on the season and will face Penn State's James Gulibon in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
