Public invited to Fairmeadow grand opening

Students will offer tours of new, two-story classroom building at Sunday event

Students at Fairmeadow Elementary School invite the public to tour their new, two-story classroom building in a community event this Sunday, Oct. 13.

Students will be the tour guides at the school's grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a short program beginning at 5:30 p.m.

New construction and improvements to the school include a 16,358-square-foot, two-story building with eight classrooms; a 600-square-foot library addition; a new kindergarten play area and a "natural play area" for all grades. Upgrades also included drainage, seating and technology improvements.

"We hope many families and our neighbors in the community join us at this fun event to see these wonderful spaces for themselves," Fairmeadow Principal Gary Prehn said.

The event will be held on the school's sports field at 500 E. Meadow Drive.

Just a clarifying point to the article- the ribbon cutting ceremony and student led tours begin at 5:30pm. Thanks!
