Jessica Marso and the Menlo College cross country teams look to build off of early season success when they travel to Angwin on Friday afternoon for the third race of the season, the Pacific Union College Invitational.
Marso was the overall winner in the race at Mills College on Sept. 21.
In women's soccer, the Oaks will put their four-game winning streak on the line Friday afternoon in Oakland against NCAA Division III Mills College at 3 p.m.. The Oaks and Cyclones last met on Sept. 17 and Menlo earned a decisive 9-0 victory.
Menlo won two big games over the weekend by defeating 2012 Cal Pac champion Embry-Riddle and earning a nonconference win over Carroll College. The Oaks are currently the only remaining unbeaten team in the Cal Pac.
In women's volleyball, Menlo dives back into conference play with its first of two weekend Cal Pac matchups when they take on host Simpson on Friday night at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Oaks will play at William Jessup in Rocklin. Menlo is currently 1-0 in conference play after a five-set win over La Sierra.
On Saturday, the Menlo football team will look to build on its first road win of the season when it travels to Illinois to take on Lindenwood-Belleville at 11 a.m.
Meanwhile, the 5th Annual Señor Carlos López Memorial Soccer Tournament is set for Saturday at noon at Menlo. This event is played in honor of López, who is a past President, professor and coach at Menlo College.
Soccer alumni will play in the game and all proceeds are designated for the Carlos López Endowed Scholarship Fund. Games begin at 1:30 p.m.
The men's wrestling team opens the 2013-14 season with its annual Blue/White Intrasquad and alumni event at noon. Past and present wrestlers take to the mats for the first time this season as the Oaks prepare for the regular-season opener on Oct. 12 at the Modesto JC Tournament.
