The United States women's national volleyball team will be playing for gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship in Omaha on Saturday night.
The second-ranked Americans advanced with a 25-22, 25-14, 25-15 victory over Canada on Friday night in the semifinal and will meet No. 10 Dominican Republic in the title match.
The U.S. beat the Dominican Republic for the title the last time the event was held in 2011. The Dominican Republic won it in 2009.
Saturday's winner advances to the season-ending FIVB Grand Champions Cup, which begins Nov. 12 in Japan.
Kelly Murphy led the U.S. with 12 points on 11 kills and a service ace. Stanford grads Kristin Richards Hildebrand and Cassisy Lichtman combined for an additional eight points on six kills, a block and a service ace.
Canada and Puerto Rico will play for the bronze medal, which will be preceded by the fifth-place match between Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico at Omaha's Ralston Arena.
Team USA is seeking its fifth NORCECA Continental title in the past seven years.
