About 3,000 athletes ran and walked by the light of the harvest moon Friday night at the 29th annual Palo Alto Weekly Moonlight Run & Walk in the Baylands.
Presented by the City of Palo Alto and the Weekly, the 5k walk, the 5k run and the 10k run all started at the Baylands Athletic Center, 1900 Geng Road, and wended their way on levees through marshland and sloughs.
Race results are posted at goo.gl/4Vr2qU.
In addition to the races, the Moonlight Run & Walk featured music by a DJ, vendor booths, a kids' course, a climbing wall, chiropractic services and pre-race warm-ups.
The proceeds from the event benefit the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund, which earlier this year granted nearly $400,000 to local nonprofit organizations supporting kids, seniors, families and more.
