Community: Kings Mountain Art Fair
Now marking its 50th year, the Kings Mountain Art Fair hosts artists of many stripes, kids' activities, food and drink tables and an info booth about the Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Brigade at 13889 Skyline Boulevard near Woodside this weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 2. Artists' booths are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. following pancake breakfasts. Admission is free, and fair proceeds benefit the local fire brigade and school. Go to kingsmountainartfair.org.
Theater: 'And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little'
The Paul Zindel dark comedy "And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little" opens this weekend at the Dragon Theatre, depicting an awkward family reunion disrupted by party-crashers. Show times are Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 through Sept. 22, at 2120 Broadway in downtown Redwood City. Tickets are $15-$30. Go to dragonproductions.net.
Art: 'Bronze Solo'
Bronze animal sculptures by Kristine Taylor -- who creates birds, octopi, jungle cats and other beings -- are now up in a solo show at Gallery House, 320 S. California Ave., Palo Alto. The free exhibition is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 11 to 8, and Sundays from 11 to 3.
